You should be watching: "You Are All Surrounded"

It's that time, Kdrama fans...You Are All Surrounded has sadly neared its end. Has ended a while ago.

I am staving off the inevitable by holding out on episodes 19 and 20 on Dramafever so I can watch them with great anticipation.  I finished it ages ago and ordered the DVD on Ebay, but haven't gotten around to finishing this review.  I'm REALLY hoping that the the mysterious Special Episode 21 is actually a teaser for a second second, because this entire drama would make an AMAZING set up for a regular show.

Update: NOPE.

I'm usually a big fan of a contained story line.  Some of my favorite western shows have been left wanting in terms of story arc resolution, confessions of love, or for heaven sake, what the heck was that giant hole in the plot!?!? when cancelled.  But this show would absolutely get my vote for a second season.  The entire show is brimming with possibilities for a great buddy cop comedy and I want more!!!!

There are so many, many reasons.
Here are just a some of them.

SPOILER WARNING.
WARNING.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

1. The Opening Titles.

Reminiscent of either a marvel film or a classic Dick Tracy-esque comic strip it perfectly sets up what's in store for you.  Hilarity, explosions, dramatic entrances, and a show that doesn't (thank goodness) take it self too seriously, except when it should.

2. The use of My Chemical Romance in the closing scene of the first episode.  You just... need to watch it.

3.  The Genre-Savvy Cast (especially Happy Mentor and Uptight Supervisor who walked off the set of the office.

4. The entire subplot about the Assistant Supervisor's Car being vandalized.
I don't have details, you'll just have to watch the show...

5. The sheer amount of quotable - quotes.
Notice the lack of quotes here.  I should fix that.  Here's a few.

“Would watering balloon flowers for a hundred days turn them into mountain herbs? No matter how much you try to water precious herbs, once they turn useless, you’d just have to cut it off.” -Seo Pan Seok

“Above the one who’s flying, there’s one who is desperate” Seo Pan Seok

“The Sun is the thing you can’t avoid even if you try.” -young Dae Gu

“It’s unfair? Then you can kiss me back” -Eun Dae Gu

6. Eun Soo Sun.  The sheer spunk of this girl.  I mean, she gets kicked out of her apt because of the owner's fraud and instead of bawling and mewling, she sets up a tent on the roof of an abandoned building and lives there.

7. The fact that Subway is one of their major sponsorsSUBWAY!  It reminds me sooo much of this other little show.  One wonders if perhaps the people at Subway in charge of such things just really like this style and genre.  I hope so.  I hope there are more such glorious collaborations in the future.

The little fact is featured beautifully in a blog post over at "Me and Lee Seungi forever"  Read it Here!

8. The hilarious food scenes.  Black bean noodles, Chicken and Beer, and let's not forget the strawberry body wash - wait that's something else entirely.

9. And finally - Decent Plot Wrapup!  An Action-Adventure-Mystery that's also fun and FUNNY!

It's good.

E and I got one of our other LG's - Tam into it, and then she got all her cousins into it.

And I bought the DVD.

So there you are.
S'ra.
